Blast Soccer Club (Blast SC) is the premiere competitive soccer club for the Pacific Beach and Clairemont area. Our philosophy is to provide a competitive soccer environment for the committed soccer player. Our success is measured by player development, enjoyment of the game, and wins/losses. We strive to make each player better through fundamental drills, conditioning and understanding the rules of the game so they can excel at an advanced level.
Blast SC focuses on developing the whole player, on and off the pitch. Players will be provided opportunities to develop skill sets in communication, team work, leadership and an ability to face and overcome challenges. Blast SC players will develop an improved Soccer IQ that allows them to read the game faster, play with increased vision and technical precision, and ultimately become confident decision makers on the pitch. Blast SC believes that like all things in life, balance is needed. Blast SC stays involved with the community, offering lots of occasions to participate in events that help build community (SD Sockers, SD Loyal, SD Wave and local college games).
Blast SC partners with other organizations that provide additional opportunities to develop Speed, Agility, and Strength Training; Mental Skills Training, and other specialized soccer skills.
Our coaching staff is guided by Tiffany Quackenbush as our Director of Coaching. Tiffany has coached at various levels including High School, Jr. College (Head Coach), Division 1 college assistant, ODP assistant coach and various club teams including PYSL Rec, Blast SC and San Diego Surf. Her vision for the club is for the players to build their basic technical and tactical skills, grow as an individual and in their love of the game in a player centered environment.
All of our coaches are licensed through United States Soccer Federation, and hold at least an USSF E license, with many attaining a higher license.
Competitive Soccer Season
Blast SC participates in the SoCal soccer league with the primary league season running from September – November. Many teams also play in tournaments throughout the year and some choose to participate in spring soccer and futsal leagues as well. There are State Cup competitions from January through March for the younger teams (through U13) and from April through May for the older age brackets (after the high school season has ended).
Blast SC teams practice 2-3 times a week while in season. Additional specialized training is offered throughout the year to include, but not limited to, goalkeeping, shooting, age group trainings and pickup games.
Blast SC provides the best value for competitive soccer in the area. Registration fees for the 2023-2024 season are $875/player. These fees cover league fees, equipment, field permitting, referees and a small administrative fee. Fees for uniforms, participating in tournaments, futsal leagues, spring leagues, etc. are additional and are not included in the league registration fee.
