The B2013 DeSantis/Baumgaertel hybrid team had their State Cup run come to an end on Saturday against a determined Orange County team that put in all of their goals from high traffic areas in front of the net.  Some days it’s hard to put it all together, even for the professionals, and the boys had a struggle connecting passes and creating chances.  The best chance of a goal came from Iker Baumgaertel, but his well-placed shot to the far post was met with an equally good save by the opposing keeper. Declan Bruntsch had another chance that just sailed wide, and made some amazing full force tackles. Henry Martin made some key saves, improved his longer throw distribution and navigated through some odd bounces from the bumpy muddy field.  Elliot Betschart, Tanner Magill and Alexander Rozsnyoi showed real hustle, both stopping some opponent plays before any chances were created, and generating some much-needed offensive momentum.  Although they are leaving the tournament, the state-cup specific formed team played very well together, especially given the compressed timeframe that they had to get used to and practice with one another, being a mix of two teams.  The boys should hold their heads high, as they battled past elimination in the group stage and won an elimination round after a slow start to make it to the Sweet 16. Being one of the

top 16 teams in Southern California is quite the accomplishment, so congratulations lads – onward to the new season, new formations and more opportunities to show everyone what great soccer players that you are!

The G2013-Forero team killed it in Sweet 16s and advanced to the final 8. The LA team they went against was incredible on D and only allowed a few goals in the entire series. The Blast girls were the only flight 2 team in SD playing against flight 1 teams. So proud.

This is the team to beat in SoCal!

G2007- Reyes fought hard in a Las Vegas tournament. All the girls played with great determination and represented Blast SC outstanding! We had 40 MPH winds. They made it to the final which ended in penalty kicks and a loss but these girls fought valiantly all the way to the end!

The B2011-DeSantis worked hard out in Las Vegas. It was quite the expereince playing teams from all over the nation. But the ultimate highlight of the trip was when the PLAYERS were able to play against their PARENTS! I’m not sure which group was more excited, but it was definitely the game to play in! We had to turn away players from other teams who all wanted to jump in on the FUN!

BLAST SC is the place to PLAY!
